Members of the Patwa Community in Rajasthan are known for the traditional accessories made by them with thick weaves of thread. Patwa men today are involved in making and selling jewellery for women such as earrings, bracelets, anklets and necklaces. The art of Patwa threadwork traditionally was associated with threading beads and binding together silver and gold threads. This art form is also known for the tassels created by the artisans while making the jewellery. Today, the threadwork involves beads and other embellishments to appeal to the sensibilities of the modern woman. The freshness and simplicity of the Patwa jewellery is what enhances its appeal.
