About Gehlot Juttis
For the past 100 years or more, the Gehlot family has been handcrafting Juttis- a tradition through generations.
Using traditional methods of treating the leather, the Gehlot family has also been able to incorporate modern sensibilities without losing the traditional craft. The whole family is involved in the making of these juttis – from the leather punching to hand stitching, leather colouring and a whole host of traditional hand embroidery with thread-work and zari work. A cross section of local leathers are used and softened with oils so that it doesn’t pinch the feet and can be ready to wear.
