About G V Kanchipuram Sarees

Veeraraghavan Kanchi  and his family come from temple town Kanchipuram. As a young lad, he  was eager to experiment and try out interesting combinations. In addition, with rising prices, Veeraraghavan was determined to offer an affordable sari but with the traditional designs in a fairly rigid community.

After a fair amount of struggle to garner enough support, Veeraraghavan developed a Kanchi Cotton sari with the traditional temple border. His dream became a reality and a new trend of developing cotton and silk combinations started.

The next generation encouraged by this movement also joined him. His son V Sathiyamoorthy now handles the designing  with new colour combinations. However, their focus is still on retaining  traditional symbols and motifs of the region.
