About Dastakar Ranthambore
Villager empowerment through appliqué and patchwork
Dastakar Ranthambore is a non-profit organisation that produces handicrafts created by local villagers, particularly women, from an area around the Ranthambore National Park. The organization was founded in 1989 in an effort to provide much-needed income to villagers who had been displaced by the creation of the tiger reserve.
Working with over 300 women in the Sawai Madhopur district, this is an endearing range including apparels, toys, quilts, pillows, throws, and other items for the home with a signature appliqué and the symbols of the animals of the National Park.
